Tutorial
for ICQ Plus Skins
Before starting this tutorial
you should already have installed on
your 'puter, the latest ICQ and ICQ Plus
programs.
Without BOTH, you cannot skin
your ICQ Panel
Beginners - Page One
Design 7 images consisting of
1 background tile, 5 buttons and 1 menu bar.
All should be either in bmp, jpg or gif form.
Tile should be around 150x150 pixels, seamless &
pale, to allow viewing of text.
You can design a very dark tile if you wish. Just make sure when
you have finished configuring your skin, you also adjust text colour in
your ICQ Preferences option, so you can see who is online/offline etc.
Buttons - Different colours but similar shades, matching your tile - all 80x40
pixels.
Name them 1,2,3,4 and 5 - with preferably buttons 1 & 5 coloured with a
gradient going in opposite directions, either top/bottom or left/right.
My button 1 has gradient going from top/bottom.
My button 5 has gradient going from bottom/top
You do not have to use gradients, but it really shows
the mouseover effect at it's best, if you do.
Menu bar - 23x260 pixels showing name of your skin. Buttonise
it if you wish.
I designed mine below, in a gradient style to match buttons 1 & 5, but
choose any colour, as long as it matches your main image/buttons.
The images should look
similar to these
(please don't take them - design your own!!)
Tile (150x150)
Buttons(80x40)
Menu Bar(23x260)

Go to the "Skins"
folder which can be found in
the ICQ Plus 2.01 program you have downloaded
and installed on your hard drive. In that folder,
make a new one, NAMING IT WHATEVER YOU
WANT YOUR NEW SKIN TO BE CALLED.
Make sure the 7 new images are in that new folder
You are now
ready to configure your skin .- Go
